Real chocolate, local makers
We exist to put small, local chocolate makers on the high street — and to serve hot chocolate the way we think it should be.
How it started
I'd spent years as a data analyst when the startup I worked for went all-in on AI — and just like that, I was out of a job. It turned out to be the push I needed to build something slower, more human, and a lot more delicious.
A year living in Poland had already given me a love for proper hot chocolate — thick, rich, made with real melted chocolate, not powder. It's something the UK barely does, and for all Macclesfield's cafés, the town was missing a truly artisan shop doing something you can't find anywhere else.
The same thinking drives everything we stock: local, direct from the maker, with as few middlemen as possible. Ethically sourced chocolate, coffee roasted just down the road, and fruit freeze-dried on a Scottish farm — the only way to get year-round berries without importing them.
How we choose our chocolate
Handmade, not mass-produced
Small batches from real people.
Local first
Cheshire makers and farm-grown ingredients.
Taste above all
If it isn't delicious, it doesn't make the shelf.
The independent makers we work with
The Happy Cow Chocolate Company
Bean-to-bar chocolate
Marton, Cheshire
Made on a third-generation dairy farm just outside Macclesfield, using the farm’s own fresh milk. Its bean-to-bar chocolate has also earned a Great Taste Award.
Oaks Artisan
Hand-painted chocolates
Higher Oak Farm, Lymm, Cheshire
Run by three sisters on their family farm in Lymm, hand-making and hand-painting chocolates in small batches alongside produce made with eggs and honey from the farm.
Arbuckle’s
Freeze-dried fruit
Angus, Scotland
A family farm near Dundee that grows and freeze-dries its own berries on site — our raspberries, strawberries and honeyberries come straight from their fields.
The Little Coffee Roastery
Speciality coffee
Little Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire
Roasting speciality coffee just down the street at the old Little Street Silk Mill — our beans travel minutes, not miles.
